  1. What on earth are you doing going up further than the 12th fret? Rookie error that 😎. Seriously though. A short scale may not necessarily help, unless you also have short arms? A narrower jazz neck, typically ballpark 38mm nut width, but crucially with a shallow neck depth would probably help you more. I haven't played your model of bass, so I don't know how deep the neck is. Best bet, get yourself down to a store that has loads of basses and try some. See what works for you best.
  2. Would help to know what area it was stolen from.
  3. It’s actually very easy to send, getting it cleared the other end with the proper paperwork is a different story, as I learned from personal experience.
  4. Yes, it is; from 2013 as I recall. I think I'd agree with you about Alembic too. I've had a few and haven't played anything that's quite like them. I'd put Ritter basses in the same class. Superbly put together and whilst they don't have a unique voice, the quality is undeniable.
  5. Mmm, just read it. I'm not sure it's the shop that should suffer with comments like this from the buyer.... 'To be fair on you, Chris did say it had just sold when I called the shop originally but I was very pushy, prepared to pay more and I rarely take no as an answer so you can blame me!'
  6. There's another all female Purple tribute, also very good indeed, Diva Purple!
  7. If it’s a song we have played before and we get asked, we’ll do it. I’m always amazed at how happy it makes some people when they ask for a song and we actually do it.
  8. Guitarist and I nearly came a cropper with exactly that on Saturday. We went up the front side by side for the guitar solo in The Final Countdown, feet up and planted on a monitor that felt it like to was made of cardboard. Bore no weight whatsoever. Heft-less one might say. I think we managed to style it out 😎
  9. Probably the same thought that Rudy Sarzo had. He got away with it 😎
  10. I guess one could argue that given that it was possibly a commission sale, that the shop had a duty to get the best price for their customer. That should have been sorted out before it went up for sale though. I say 'sale', but it sounds like it was a blind auction. I'd also argue the case for the buyer saying 'I understand it's sold, but let me have first refusal if things don't work out'. But, 'I don't care if it's sold, I'll give you more money, plus you won't have to ship it internationally' sucks big time from both sides. I have visions of there being a mirror thread on Talk Bass.
  11. Sell the guitars! In fact, sell some of your basses to me 😂
  12. That and the buyer IMHO. As bad as each other.
  13. The thing I’m taking from this is that he didn’t bring his own rig. Even if I knew there was a house rig, I’d bring mine.
